So I ruined my CCW permit - Ohio permits don't react well to being doused with sunscreen. (Don't ask.) Expecting the worst, I called the Sheriff's office. "Bring me a $15 money order and your old permit." Me: "Hours or days?" "I'll get right on it." An hour later I walked in with the payment and ruined permit and walked out with a new one in about 2 minutes.

At least in Ross County (thanks Sheriff Lavender) the 2nd is honored.
 
Yes, here in Gwinnett County, Georgia they don’t seem intent on making our lives miserable at least as it relates to a Weapons License.

A couple of years ago my Mother went through an extend illness and even though I knew it was due I let my license expire. So, I go to the courthouse expecting them to force me to pay full price and go through the entire process. However, they simply treated it as a renewal since apparently the law has a grace period written into it. She also stapled a temporary extension to my old permit and in a week or so I received the new one. No pain at all.
