Nice Doe

Couldn't wait any longer for that big buck & take the chance of getting skunked for the bow season. Fri. night I took a nice doe 139 lb. I have seen this doe a few times this season and finally decided it was time. She was walking away and I put it just behind the ribs and into the boiler room she went about 30 yards. Well last night I cut her up and when I was skinning I notice what loked like an engorged tick but it was under the skin 2" to the right of the tail. didn't pay much attention. Then I get to the front shoulders and I see where my broad head came through the rib cage just behind left shoulder, but the left shoulder is wrecked ( blood shot) there is no way my arrow did it. After a little digging I find two .22 rimfire bullets in the shoulder so I went back to the tail and sure enough that was a 3rd .22 just under the skin by the tail. I would love to catch these F'ing scumbags

I'll see your doe and raise you a 10 point.

My bud and I were on our way back to his house after the morning hunt last Sunday and he gets a call from one of his neighbors. The guy tells us about the poached 10 point laying in a cut bean field about a half mile from my friends house. It was shot in the eye with a 22. The DNR was called but nothing has come of it yet.

I feel your pain.......buck or doe, if you legally take a deer with your bow and find it's a "poacher survivor" that sucks.

It was on private land, could have been anyone, there are houses not too far off. I was thinking maybe some kids squirrel hunting because I don't think a poacher wound shoot for the shoulder with a .22, they usually shoot for the head or neck
