NHM-90 Question

Why did you buy a Norinco NHM-90 ???

Hi Everyone:

This question is for any NHM-90 lucky owners or those who have ever owned these great AK47 variants...

Why did you buy a Norinco NHM-90 ??? Why not another AK47 model ?

Ok, let's get this discussion going. I bought mine because it is well built, it was in like new condition. The thumbhole stock feels comfortable and the trigger is very good. The iron sights are easy to acquire. It came with one metal 10 round magazine. I may change the stock to an ATI side folding tactical stock, with grip and forearm covers. My NHM-90 looks like the one on this link:

Midway sells an ATI stock kit that looks very practical and light.

Can anyone recommend a website where I can buy American made furniture for this rifle?

You can buy American made furniture at Iron Wood Designs

When you start swapping out parts be aware of the 922r requirements of converting the thumb hole stocked rifles back to the original configuration. You must replace foreign parts with US made parts to bring your part count down to 10 or less foreign made parts. Typically people replace the hammer, trigger, sear, handguard, buttstock, pistol grip and gas piston. You can also replace the magazine with a US made mag that counts as 3 parts.

Here's a worksheet that will help with calculating parts changes.
