NH Set to QUINTUPLE Non-Resident CCW Fee July 1, 2009

The New Hampshire Democrats are ramrodding a provision in the state budget to QUINTUPLE the non-resident concealed-carry license fee, from $20 to $100 for four years.

Unless we can block it, which doesn't look promising at the moment, anyone who thinks they might want a non-resident New Hampshire carry license any time in the next four years or so should apply within the next two weeks, or face spending an additional $80.

The application form is here:
http://www.nh.gov/safety/divisions/nhsp/ssb/permitslicensing/documents/dssp260.pdf

One thing they don't mention, which they're required to, is that they have a DEADLINE to issue or deny within fourteen days, which they commonly ignore.

If they blow that deadline, they can be sued, and Gun Owners of New Hampshire, Inc. and our attorney, Penny Dean, is looking for a non-resident willing to do the legwork in making such a lawsuit happen. If you're willing, keep a copy of your application, mail it certified with return receipt, and contact penny@pennydean.com.

Please be sure to let your fellow non-NH residents know about this. The deadline is only two weeks away.

Thanks for the info. Just applied for mine today.

Thanks again!! :)

ETA: I hope you don't mind but I copied your message and pasted it at the Michigan Gun Owners website for members there to read and consider.

I hope everyone got their applications in before the deadline.

Since the state puts out revenue numbers for the previous month within a couple of days of the end of the month, It'll be very interesting to compare the July license revenue to the August license revenue come early September. Looking forward to seeing a cliff-shaped discontinuity.
