Yes indeed ! She did say those exact words. I was a teenager at the time (1978) and a little "headstrong". She disagreed with my unforgiving nature in a family dispute. I didn't back down (still haven't and don't intend to). We are actually on very good terms but do not discuss the issue which elicited the comment. We have "agreed to disagree", so to speak.
She does have a way with words sometimes.
