Newspaper fabricates AWB story

For my first post since the return of the firingline I bring you this lame AWB story from my local newspaper.

I thought it might be nice to share with the fellow members.

This is the worst case of journalist mal-practice I’ve ever seen. In fact, it’s clear that if a writer, editor and section editor can’t get their facts right you pretty much have a worthless newspaper. Honestly, I’d be embarrassed to have my name in the byline.

I disagree with your use of the word "newspaper". Actually its a "tabloid", just the wrong size, and belongs with the national inquiror and other fiction that you pass in the checkout line at your local grocery.
I always wondered why I had a lot of trouble attaching my machete to the bayonet lug. Now with the AWB expired, I can remove all that duct tape. heh heh

And we all know flash supressors emit a cloaking field! :barf: Good God, i'm 14 and I know 1,000,000 times more about guns and what they can and can't do than this bozo :barf: This is worse than when I heard that the single shot .50 BMG was a popular gang weapon! Boy if I had a nickel for every time I saw a blood with a 30+ pound 4+ foot single shot rifle walking down the street. I can see it now, "Hey homie, I shot the car but it dindn't explode!" :D

Rugerdude:

Newspapers "fabricating" things re firearms related stories is, unfortunately nothing new. Matter of fact, either as a result of intent, ignorance or stupidity, it is, all to often, SOP (standard operating procedure)

I have got to get one of those gizmos that makes shooters invisible. What's it called again? Whatever it is, it'll be cheaper now that W. has turned them loose to flood the streets, right?

Was watching CBS news

on the day the ban was lifted...During their commentary, they showed someone throwing the bolt on a Barrett .50 (I believe an M82A2)....Haven't heard of any drive-by shootings with a 36 pound gun, have you?

I've come to the conclusion that the facts don't matter in journalism anymore. That's just filler footage. How about actually showing a formerly weapon? How about asking some questions?
