Newly acquired.357 need Smith and Wesson serial number search

I've recently acquired a S&W 19-4 .357. I believe it is a "Combat Magnum" It has a wider hammer spur and a wider trigger. I'd like to verify its manufacture date. 59K7XXX.

The Model 19 with engineering change 4 was introduced in 1977. Your serial number places production between 1980 to 1982 when the Model 19-5 was introduced. The hammer and trigger on your revolver are know as a target hammer and target trigger.

I have a factory nickel model of the 19-4 manufactured in 1979.

You are correct, and it is referred to as the Combat Magnum.

59K7xxx would be 1980.
Serial numbers ran from 57K0001 to 91K6800 that year.
