That is gorgeous! A really dandy example of why revolver is spelled S&W.

Sigh....

Mossy, I've seen original Smiths with four inch barrels, but they were fixed sight guns. A commercialized 1917, basically.

In 1971, I found two similar revolvers in a pawn shop. One was the 1950 Target model, as shown, but in 44 Special. The other one was a four inch M&P sort of thing, also in 44 Special. No money.......

That's a fine wheelgun for sure. I have a Model 25 with a 6.5" barrel which is hands-down the most gorgeous revolver in my collection. They look awesome and shoot great. Congratulations on a fine purchase, and welcome to TFL.
