I wasn't planning on getting a hunting rifle just yet put my wife decided to spend some of her stock money on gear. She picked up a Sig 1911 in a .22 and I got my first modern hunting rifle; a scoped Savage model 111 30.06 with the black synthetic stock.
I haven't taken it out yet but I'm looking forward to getting dialed in. I'm not sure I can be ready for a hunt this year (I'll know better once I spend some time on the range) but I know I'll be going in '12.
I really like the feel of the accutrigger especially when compared to my Mosin. The scope isn't anything high end, just a basic set up, but I can upgrade that later if need be.
