Hello All

Long time gun guy checking in.
I've always been a .22 whore - lol Rifles and Pistols. I can't help it, their Fun, Cheap and a huge selection!!

Recently I was luck enough to inherit some old school WWII mausers. I know nothing about these things. In fact I can't even figure out what caliber they are.

I'm hoping you guys can help me identify the calibers and some values

Here's my list

Remington US Army issue 03A3
Chiliean Mauser-Orden y Patria 1935
Czechoslovakian Mauser VZ 24
German Mauser dot 1942
BRNO Mauser ZKK-601
Interarms Mark X
Mauser Model 98
8779 33/40 Mauser Mannlicher

Welcome to the TFL!

Pictures would help to deterimine value, and if they military rifles have been sporterized it will have decreased the value of the rifles.

Remington US Army issue 03A3 (.30-06)
Chiliean Mauser-Orden y Patria 1935 (unfamiliar with this Mauser rifle probably a small ring could be 7X57, possibly 7.62X51)
Czechoslovakian Mauser VZ 24 (8X57)
German Mauser dot 1942 (8X57)
BRNO Mauser ZKK-601 (??? look on the barrel for chambering as this is a commercial action)
Interarms Mark X (??? look on the barrel for chambering as this is a commercial action)
Mauser Model 98 (8X57)
8779 33/40 Mauser Mannlicher (8X57 probably the most desireable of all the ones you have listed)

You'll need to post better pictures, try one rifle at a time take some full length and close ups of the actions, from a lot of different angles. Just take pictures of the rifles you can't figure out what they are by the markings.

In your first picture the rifle below the shotgun looks like the 33/40 (8x57), the next one down is a Mauser but I don't have a clue. The next one looks like a M1 carbine right above the Springfield 1903 rifle (.30-06), and the bottom is another Mauser (vz-24? 8X57).

The second picture there isn't enough for me to go on. I'd like to see more pictures of the rifles. Looks like you have some nice ones there. Easiest thing for you to do is to have the rifles appraised by someone willing to come to where you store them. That way you'll know exactly what you have and what they are worth to an insurance company.

the VZ 24 is a czech rifle manufactured in czechoslovakia somewhere between 1938 and 1942. it is either chambered in 8 mauser, 7 mauser or 7.65x53(never heard of it before today).

all of this info came from wikipedia, and took about 5 minutes to piece together from the picture you have up.
google is our friend :D
