Doing a field strip per the owner's manual, and giving it a clean and lube with fresh lube is a good idea.
It makes you more familiar with how it works, you'll see if there's some sort of factory defect, and you can clean out the dirty factory lube and any metal shavings left from manufacture.
Last, even factory new guns can have gunk or debris in the barrel.
This is easy and costs you nothing. There's really no good reason NOT to do this.
In fact, most gun's owner's manuals recommend cleaning at least the bore.
