Hi my name is Drew and I recently moved to the west and am wanting to get into long range shooting for more hunting oppurtunities. Currently I have a Ruger m77 mark II 300 win mag that I got about 10 years ago. The only work that I have had done to the gun is had the trigger lightened. First I would like to buy a good scope to maximize the distance I can shoot. i believe I would like one with an adjustable trigger. There are so many choices and was wandering if you could give me any recomendations for a scope. I want a good one but my budget is around 1300. I have seen that they can be made gun specific and that would be nice but good if changeable because when budget allows I would like to purchase a more custom rifle in like a 338 lapua to really be able to reach out there. Thanks for any help.

Hi Drew,

Welcome to TFL. Before any of your questions get answered I'd like to ask you to elaborate on them. Why do I want you to elaborate? Simple - more concise questions along with more details and requirements make it easier for others to give you more accurate answers.

Now aside from gun related questions and information I'd like to ask you to consider typing properly as well. That means use proper punctuation, proper grammar and separate your thoughts into properly composed paragraphs rather than one long blurp. This will make it easier for others to read your post and for that matter will actually make people want to read your posts.

Personally I just pass over most posts that look like yours. I just happened to notice this was your first post in the forum and figured I'd welcome you and take the opportunity to welcome you and help you along with some friendly criticism.

Again, welcome and good luck.

Scope & things

I'd go with the Millet LRS a friend has one I think it's 6x2550mm he shoots a 1000 yards regularly. Most of the time all you hear from him is bullseye oh he shoots a 300 Win Mag.
