Interestingly enough, this is carved into the wall of the FDR Memorial in Washington, right next to the statue of FDR.

In that era, even those who saw government as a primary way to solve problems cherished Liberty.

I think it's a bit different, now.

(Before his polio, FDR fished for Tarpon at Port Aransas, and I believe he was a bit of a quail hunter during his Georgia vacations.)
