New Winchester Super X Pump Defender

Hi Everyone,
Fairly new to the site. I think it's a fantastic resource for anyone interested in firearms.
Anyway, does anyone have any experience with the Winchester SXP Defender? I'm looking to purchase one based on the price and the 1300's previous track record. Is this a good choice?
 
I know very little about the new Winchester gun. It may be a great gun but I read somewhere they were made somewhere in Asia and branded with the Winchester label. Not sure of the details and I could be wrong, but I would want to find out exactly where they are made and by whom before I bought one.

I'm not here to pick brands, for I'm a Remington guy through and through. However, Winchester has been around a couple years and has produce some of firearms all time classics. As long as you are buy guns, be that any brand. We all win as hunters and shooters.
 
Thanks for your suggestions. I have been looking at HD shotguns for a while now and have been teetering back and forth between the Remington 870 and the Winchester. I did have a moment where I was intrigued by the Mossbergs but their loose action really turns me off.
Anyway, I'll be contacting a local dealer this weekend to see if they have it in stock.

Spoke with a couple local dealers and they said it is very difficult to purchase any tactical/HD shotguns right now as they are in high demand. Guess I'll Just have to wait.

I can't find any reviews online, nor have I seen one in person. Most of Winchesters new products are actually Browning designs since they were bought out. Whether it is a reworked 1300 or a reworked BPS, it's undoubtedly going to be a good gun.
 
It looks great. Nice to see a Winchester pump back in the offing, as the Model 1300 was retired when the US operations were scaled back. Browning and Winchester are now stablemates - twins if you like. Both are owned by the same owner and produced in Belgium, a nation historically famous for its gun-making tradition [like the generally well respected FN-FAL rifle] Brownings have been, for many years produced in Belgium and few would dispute the reputation of this brand. Hopefully there should be few if any, quality issues with the Winchesters as well. Your shotgun of interest is relatively new in the market hence the scarcity of reviews. Might be a better idea to wait a bit until sufficient numbers are fielded for reviews to come in [although having said that, these reviews tend to be terribly subjective!]
It's the New England branded pump shotguns that are made iin China, although my understanding is that thestock blanks were shipped there from the US.
 
Yeah I am going to keep my eyes open for them but for now it looks like I will have to twiddle my thumbs. So based on what everyone is saying, should I look into Browning shotguns?

I just saw a new Winchester Super X pump for sale on Gunsamerica yesterday. Just an FYI. It looks pretty nice on the Winchester web sight. I might be interested if I had not just bought a new gun last week.
 
I am surprised to see Winchester get into the pump market again,but, after

closing up shop here in the USA and being under Belgian ownership, I would not
be surprised if they have an Asian firm or even a Chinese manufacturer
producing these pumps.

They've already done it with the various clones, good and bad with the 870, the model 37, model 97, and model 1887.

China even has an ultra 87 that is a Remington clone with a Mossberg like tang safety.

A Winchester 1300 would be ridiculously easy to produce as it is alloy and mostly stamped.

They are decent shotgun and can stand some pretty rough use.

They have a rotary bolt that is scary fast in the right hands.
