New Wheelgun

Just got back from the gun show, where I picked up an SP101 in 9mm.

I was also going to get a couple of loopholes, since I heard they are about to become extinct. I had the cash, but I couldn't find any.

Guess I got there late.

I saw one at a show a month or two back, thought about buying it, didn't, and regretted it. Now that I want to buy one, I can't find one anywhere! All I can find are the 38 special and 357 magnums.

I want a revolver, and figure that 9mm makes sense from an ammo perspective since I already have several 9mm pistols.

I've heard great things about the Ruger revolvers.

Still not sure what Dr. J meant by "loopholes", but I think that a 5 shot 9mm revolver is a good idea if you carry a 9mm primary. My only words of wisdom would be to check out the S&W (no politics, please) 9mm J-frame. I think it's the model 940, but I'm not sure. While I like the Ruger revolvers immensely (my dad has a Speed-Six and I have my eye on a 4 inch GP-100), I find that the Smith J-frames are more size-efficient for carry.

Taurus is apparently making some fine wheel guns, however, I'm not sure if they offer a 9mm model. As for loopholes, you rarely find them on revolvers these days, mostly the older military models like the M1917. Get 'em while you can.

940 is out of production. But I wouldn't buy a new one anyway.

Before SW crashed, I always wanted them to make a 942 but it was said that the alloy frame couldn't handle the 9mm.

Maybe Taurus could make a Ti 9mm snubbie.

Perhaps, they could license the Medusa Technology from Phillips and Rodgers to dump the moon rings?

Dream on!
