new vs. used WASR-10

So I purchased a Century Arms Romanian WASR-10/63 today at a local gun shop as a Christmas present, brought it home, and found in the box a strip of paper saying that the gun was a pre-used firearm and had a new barrel. It also said it was a WASR-10, even though the guys at the shop told me it was a WASR-10/63 (the tag around the gun even said it was a WASR-10/63 when it was sitting on the rack).

Here's my question: I bought the gun under the impression that it was new, and nothing on the original tag stated otherwise. Have I been duped, or is this how most WASR-10s are sold? Should I go back to the gun shop in the morning and try and get my money back?

Mine looks identical and came with the same accessories as this one - http://www.aimsurplus.com/product.aspx?item=F1CAKGPWASR

Thanks,
Tom

I guess I'm confused. Could you explain?

Edit: Ah, so WASRs are built out of demilitarized AKs, which means their parts are going to be used...thus a used gun. I get it now. Apologies for the post, I'm new to all of this. I guess a new barrel is good since that's going to get the most wear and tear.

Let's get real here- ANY kind of AK variant, used or not, is an awesome Christmas present.

And yes, so that makes it "used", at one angle. I'm not entirely sure if century stamps 10/63 as opposed to 10 on the receiver, either. Regardless, it will be a ton of fun

Does it have a threaded barrel and bayonet lug? If so, it's a 10/63.

There's actually almost zero difference between the two. It's not something to be concerned about.

I can't find exactly what the bayonet lug looks like, but it did come with a bayonet. I just got off the phone with Century Arms and they said they didn't know what a 10/63 was. They said all of their receivers come in under the same product code, and if it said something other than 10/63 on it, then it was something the Romanians were shipping.

Local gun shop said no returns, so I'm going to give it as a present and then let my father deal with the shop if he wants to return it.

I could just be talking out the wrong end here but a WASR is a WASR. 10 or 10/63 makes no difference. they are all romanian parts mixed with a certain number of american parts to be 922R compliant. think of it as the difference between an M16A2 and M16A3. the only real difference is one is full auto and one is 3 round burst...a demilitarized version would get rid of all the parts that make it a "machine gun" and remove all the difference between the 2 models.

but then again I am not an expert with AKs and their variants. I have a WASR of some variant.... I just call it a wasr and everyone knows what I'm shooting... easy day.
