New Turkey Hunters

Took my two oldest girls (14 and 12) turkey hunting for the first time today. No turkeys, but saw several deer and lots of squirrels. They thoroughly enjoyed the day, as did their Dad. Proud Papa pic of the newbies attached.

Yup, the fall is tough. But it's a good excuse to do some deer scouting. It was the girls' choice--turkey or squirrel--and they chose turkey. I think partly because they get to wear cool camo outfits instead of orange vests and hats. I'm guessing the next time will be squirrel.

Cool! My first turkey was shot in the fall season down near Guilderland,NY,IIRC.

I can hardly wait until my kids are old enough to take deer hunting. My daughter, being 8 years old, is probably ready for rabbit and squirels. I'd take her deer hunting, but she likes to talk a lot. For that matter, so does my 5 year old son!
