I have been looking for a S&W 686 with a 3in. barrel. I am on a trip to visit famly. My wife and I went to lunch, she saw a quilt shop and I saw agun shop. To make the story short I went into the gun shop and there in thr case was a used like new 686 3in barrel. There are no powder marks on the frame or cyndler a very faint cynder mark, have the orginal case and paperwork along with the factory fired brass, it was fired on August 10, 2010. Out the door 599.00$. I had planned on driving 90 miles to a cableas to buy a new one for 677.00$ plus taxes. I guess it pays to visit the small gun shops.
