Howdy all....my first post and i hope its in the right place. I am from south carolina and have two kids, 16 and 2....i know....big gap........thats what i said!!! 2 of the best "surprises" in my life.

I have been an outdoorsman all my life. growing up on a farm, hunting, fishing, etc., but it wasn't until recently that i was bit by the handgun bug. i can't get enough of them. reading about, shooting, looking, buying...you name it. took the cwp a few weeks ago and listening to the instructor really opened up my eyes to how the "world" is and how i (we) need to educate ourselves.

Just wanted to say howdy and i look forward to learning and chatting with all.

Oh yeah, about the guns that i own. i have around 18 rifles and shotguns. handguns i have a bersa .380, ruger p90 .45, s&w model 59 9mm (which i am most proud of. belonged to an officer who died in the line of duty) and a picture of a kimber ultra pro ii that i am going after next!!

Hi flux!

Welcome to TFL :) Sounds like you have a nice collection of firearms. I think you are going to enjoy this site. Lots of good people and a wealth of good info to give and receive. Cheers!

Welcome to TFL.......lots of good reading on here and many opinions to be heard.

I too have gotten the handgun bug lately since I took my CWP class. I plan to start doing more pistol shooting events at the gun club I am involved in this year.:)

Welcome.

I too am new to this site, but I am also new to guns in general. I recently purchased my very first firearm ever and I couldn't be happier. Anything I can get my hands on (magazines, online) I read. I also try to make friends with those who have been shooting for a long time.

I've found TFL to be helpful to someone who is new to everything. I think you will enjoy it here as well.

Lately, I have been drooling over those big revolvers and 1911's. :)

thanks all! i have really gained A LOT of knowledge already just browsing the site. i just "thought" i knew something.

Keltyke--I am in anderson....work in greenville...well, employed in greenville :D

srt jimbo--you wasted no time. took me forever!!

Welcome to the site! I too am new to the site and I myself am relatively new to the wonderful world of handguns. This site has been wonderful in helping guide me through the buying process, evaluation of potential new acquisitions and help with refining my shot (which I'm still in the process of mastering).

I have been to dewy's a few times. friendliest ppl i have ever met. i will have to check out allen arms. thanks for the info.

Welcome from another upstate SC shooter, CWP holder, and TFL newbie. Picked up the handgun bug myself a couple of years ago and I too can't get enough. Every time I manage to purchase one I start debating on what to save for next.

You have found a good site here. I think I learn something every day.:)

Hiya "sclay"!

Yea, I like Dewey's. It's almost like a private range in there. If you're in there by yourself, you can shoot just about however you want. Allen is a good place. The staff is VERY knowledgeable and friendly - great range with an outstanding gun rental plan (including FULL autos of various types).

Hello Keltyke.

I'm embarrased.:o I have never been to Dewey's and didn't know they had a range. I shoot at Allen's a good bit but have slacked off because it's usually very crowded when I get the chance to go. I'll have to find Dewey's and try them out.

See, learn something every day.:)

Rex's in Hendersonville NC is another good range if you're ever up that way.
