New To The Firing Line!

It's the .22LR

Hehe... I am not hunting anything so the power doesn't matter.

I hoped that .22LR can punch for recoil, for the fun of it, but 5 cents per round really isn't bad compared to say $1 a round.

I just bought a mk 2 FV and I love it , you are going to love yours as well . I prefer CCI mini mags For there quality to cost ratio . My buddy put a bunch of 22lr through his chronometer and the mini mags were one of the most consistant less then 100 fps differance. The wolf match stuff was really good as well . All the bulk ammo sucked federal had 2 to 3 hundred fps differances ( thats huge ). So find what your gun likes and shoot away . :)

BTW - Welcome home

Metal god: Did that .22lr rifle feel like a real gun?

I am really worried that with the small recoil, it will feel more like a pellet gun... i know people use higher caliber for big hunting, but since I am only gonna shoot at objects, I am wondering if it will really have that firearm feel...

What say you?

Welcome to the playhouse

Welcome friend,

Enjoy the fun and all the madness. I think you will find I great bunch of guys and gals who know a lot about guns and even more who are learning. It is great fun:D

Hum , Im having a hard time thinking of a way to answer .

Short answer NO it does not feel like a big bad gun . There is almost no recoil . infact the gun moves so little you can keep the scope on target and see the bullet fly through the air . At 100 yards on a windy day it can be kinda fun . You can see the bullet curve and drop its like shoot free throws in to the bullseye . :D

That being said there is something big bad gun like when after every shot you have to pull that bolt back feed another round in and get set up for the next shot . I love that part of shooting . I should also mention that the gun is a tac driver . I like to take one shot and then put the rest of the mag in that same hole ;)

We like to play shooting games like tic-tac-toe , darts or timing games . Most of the time are target is not much biger then a pencil eraser at 50 yards and my savage as no problem with that .

Im not sure how many guns you have But I have , Lets just say a few . I bought this gun to be accurate and cheap to shoot and it is both .I have other guns to trash my shoulder.
