hi every one
I own a springfield Defender 1911 .45 cal .

I was wondering if all 1911 .45 take the same type of sight ?

was thinking of Installing Trijicton sights
on my gun but I dont know which ones to get .

And is there a way to make the gun a double auction if its a single acution ?

Front sights either stake on or fit in a dovetail the same way your rear sight does.I myself am partial to dovetail front sights although I will admit I have an old commander with a stake on front sight that has probably been shot more than anything else I have and the front sight is still there.Either way you probably should have a gunsmith fit the sights. You can't practically convert a 1911 to double-action.Anyway,why would you wan't to?Most if not all experienced pistol shooters agree that the single action auto has better trigger control/feel which is a practical accuracy enhancer. Try "old slab sides"the way she is & see if you don't fall in love.
