New to me Taurus 357

Well I just got a Taurus model 66 357 in a trade. This gun has been used quite a lot and needs a good cleaning, it is obvious the previous owner did not keep this gun clean. The finish on this gun is what I believe to be a Satin/Nickel finish. There is some slight pitting and needs cleaned real well. The question is what do you all use to clean a gun like this? This is my first revolver. Thanks for any input!

How old, if you have any idea?

I sometimes regret, slightly, trading off my old 66, though it is not remotely close to the equal of my Model 19.

The old standby Hoppe's, and a lot of elbow grease. (belay that, if it's really a nickel plate. Though I'd be surprised if a nickel plated gun would have any pitting. Perhaps a plating or some bake on finish, over blue after a hard life.)

A brass bore brush and copper Chore Boy patches, if there's any leading in the barrel.

Clean it real good first, before you decide if the "slight pitting" needs to be dealt with.
