New to me Model 10-6

I picked this up yesterday for $200 OTD! Not bad hu?

It's my first old revolver and I have to say older IS better!

Does anyone know of some thinner grips? They are a little fat for my hands.

Off to the range!

A classic revolver. Certainly worth 2C.

The Magnas are the thinnest factory wood. There may be aftermarket stocks that are thinner. You must have very short fingers as this is the first time I've heard someone say the Magnas are too bulky. Most shooters complain they are too small.

I have the same one except a 10-5 and it's a little rougher than yours. I bought a set of Pach grips. Love shooting the 3inch Model 10!

I know it's a bit trendy, but I bought the Miculek grips from bang-inc.com. They are wood instead of rubber. It's a .38 Special, which isn't a hard recoiling round, I'd rather have the control and looks of wood instead of rubber, which collects dust stuff.

Hogue also makes nice wood grips, but it seems impossible to find any that don't have finger grooves. What the hell is with people's obsession with stupid finger grooves. They grooves rarely fit my hand, so the Miculek grips were perfect.

Anyway, just my two cents. I have a 10-6 as well. It has the best trigger of any firearm I've ever used.

Not sure if the houge grips are thinner than original or not, but sure feel good. Wife has taken over the one with original grips.
Here's my $200 find a cpl yrs ago. Excellent lock up, smooth & accurate.

Hogues are on order. I like how it's got a cut out for speed loaders which I also ordered.

Now I'm debating wether to get it reblued or not.

If I get the job done then I'll have to put fancy official grips on it then never holster it. :( Doesn't sound as fun, but I also do like a purdy gun.

I'd just clean it up real good. It gives it more character and you won't be afraid of using it. Maybe a very little touch up with cold blue so the wear spots don't stand out as much. Some will say just leave it alone, but I had good results doing a little touch up with a Q-Tip.
You can always get another one for a show piece later.
