New to me Dan Wesson 22

One revolver I have been looking for a long time was the right Dan Wesson 22. I wanted the HV version with a 6" barrel made in Monson. I just got one on Gunbroker and I am pleased with it. These were always known for accuracy and this one fills the bill. After zeroing the sights, it put 5 shots in a 1.5" group @ 25 yards. This thing is so easy to shoot well as it weighs 52 oz empty and you just feel a slight push when it fires. I do hope if CZ-Dan Wesson starts making them again they are the same quality. :D

A fine gun and fine shooting to boot. Congrats.

As far as new DWs, I'd swear CZ announced they'd be re-introducing their revolvers not long ago, but nothing apparently came of it.

Thank you, I am very happy with it. It was a "bucket list" gun.

Funny you say that, I sent them an email last summer and here was the response:

We have hopes of bringing them (revolvers) back, we just don’t have a prospective date. Dan Wesson had a fire back in November and just came online a month ago, so we’ve still got to get back to normal before we can think about the revolvers.

Thanks!

Nice - mind if I ask how much?

I had -well I still have it but, it's on permanent loan to a friend of mine - a 4" .22 I picked up in the late 1970's.

I'd wanted a S&W M18 but couldn't come up with the money so I bought the Dan.
I seldom shot it due to the D/A trigger being different than my S&W's.
A friend of mine who's a Ruger fanatic likes the way it feels like his GP100 so I let him borrow mine for an undetermined period.

I'd tried once to sell mine years ago, (maybe 10/12 years or so ago) and nobody would offer anything more than $150 for it.
The gun is in like 99% or better, has the original box, the "rug", the wrench and the feeler gauges so I felt $150 was way too low.

I paid $461 and I was happy with that. I did a lot of looking and the 22s are just not as common so they (at least now) are bringing more money than the model 15s. I did see some for less but they either looked rough or were not the barrel setup I wanted. Used barrels and shrouds alone can bring $250 or more so I did not want to settle on something and then try to find one with the barrel and sights I wanted. I am glad I did.

Nice. I found one locally that was a bit rough. I jumped on it instantly. I haven't got it out to the range much but its a great gun. I really like your shroud and irons... i must have them. Any info?

Excellent choice. I have had two Dan's in 22 and my buddy talked me out of the blued one. I will never sell the 722 I have it is a great shooter!

50 shots at 15 yrds offhand.

Peter, very nice and great shooting!

DW offered a plain barrel, a vent rib, a full underlug (Heavy), or a shroud with both the vent rib and heavy option (HV) which mine has. Peter's has the same setup.

DW has everything modular so you can change them around. There was a target front sight blade also available from Dan Wesson and this revolver has it as well. Because so many were used for silhouette shooting, they had some of the best factory sights available.
