New to me 60LS

Ran across a guy at the gun shop trading this pistol in and offered him a marginal amount more than the low ball trade they were going to give him on an AR deal they were running. Long story short I met up with the guy selling the Smith&Wesson 60LS last night. Got it for $425 with 50 rounds of .357 mag JHP, the original case, and a concealed carry holster. Looked it over really good and it was as I remembered in great shape. Here are few quick photos.

Everyone has days when every thing goes to ***, but it looks like you had a day when it all came up roses...What a beauty, and I would call it a great price. Enjoy the ride.

Well I spent a lot of time working the trigger today and I am really starting to like the feel. This is my first revolver so I can't wait to put some rounds through it. I know it's a Ladies Smith but I ever since I saw one I have had to have one. I have been looking for one for the last year or so but just didn't want to drop $750 on a new one.

I carried it around the house today and I will say I thought the cylinder would be hard to conceal compared to the CM9 I am used to carrying but I found it to fit inside the waist band nicely. I also found the roundness of the grip and other parts on the gun make it even easier to conceal under a t shirt than the blockiness of the small semi autos I am used to carrying.

Lady gun - pish - tosh. The 3913L was a neat gun and then they had to make a NL for folks who must have felt their masculinity was at risk. Gun is a gun.

In fact, I think the raspberry LCPs are very cute.

Bah, men have been associating objects as "female" for a very long time.. boats, cars.. you name it, it's probably been given a female moniker.

So, if anyone gives you grief, just tell em.. "This is my lady, she is lean, mean, loud and proud." ;)

Or, if you are the married variety, "she", the gun, can be referred as your "mistress".. just so there's no confusion on who/what you are talking about ! :D

Nice revolver, I love the finish, the grips and the fixed sights. Good luck with it!

Interesting spin on the "Lady Smith". I am good friends with a long-time gun shop owner who said that Smith & Wesson lost a lot of sales to Taurus and Ruger throughout the 1980s and 1990s because guys did not want to carry a gun that was branded "Lady Smith" although the guys really liked these guns and wanted to buy them. It was a shame because the Model 60 and 65 Lady Smiths are ideally suited as carry revolvers.

He said that Smith & Wesson was not listening to gun shop owners and they waited too long to introduce similar models without the Lady Smith branding.

Some guys are really hung up on this and cheated themselves out of purchasing a great revolver. I am told that the Lady Smith guns were worked over at the factory to give them smoother triggers than the non-Lady guns. In addition, the LS guns had nicer grips and a nicer look overall.

but I don't think I'd tell people I had a "lady" gun

"Lady" gun or not the LS is a nice pistol. Especially for cc. Many plain clothes LEO carried them for years. Must have appealed to their feminine side OR they felt it served their needs the best.

I'm thinkin the later is true.

Very nice find at a good price. Enjoy!
