Is there any undisovered Continent out there. Boy I wish there was. Considering that this country will takes years to recover from the trader we all know and love. So much has happend in the last 8 years. Look at all the stuff that has happend. Correct me if I am wrong, I am still a youngin' (23). The first time I ever heard of someone getting shot was Reagan. After that maybe Ted Bundy due to the fact I lived in FL. Then it hits in '92 Car jackings left and right. Crime rates sore. Modern day Gansta's become huge. Oklahoma City Bombing(which after reading the report givin by General Benton K. Partin, I feel the gov't is behing that.) Kids are hopped up on prescription drugs, there is a huge race war going on. Guns are getting banned. Did I forget anything??? What has caused all of this. I think one thing is that there are no more morals in this country. What other opions are out there on how this country will do in the next 10-20 years???

10-20 years? Easy, reeducation camps for those of us who can be cured of our antisocial behaviour and a nice pleasent death for those of us who oppose. Wouldn't surprise me, but nothing much surprises me anymore. I don't really know, but things are not looking good.

I asked the same question a little differently a while back and got sort of flamed for it from many TFLers about what a great country this is and can be again.

I don't know. Maybe those floating island guys have the idea.

If there are any undiscovered continents out there the nation is in peril. All of our recon satellites are malfunctioning!

Seriously, a few generations later, there is your new frontier.

Do it for the children... really.

glockguy45, with all due respect, take a pleasant walk and enjoy Spring. While many of us get discouraged by all the news, there is indeed much to appreciate and enjoy about our times. No flame here.

Your reference to Ted Bundy, I assume, is regarding his murderous ways ... interestingly enough, I don't think he ever shot anyone. And, unfortunately, none of his victims had concealed firearms.

Note that the media really hammers crime down our throats. Violent crime is actually the lowest it has been in about 25 years, per FBI stat's released last Fall, as I recall. But, we have something like 280,000,000 people in the U.S. Out of that many people, you're going to have nutcases, bad guys and tragedy. It makes great sense to be ready to defend yourself, but in truth, for the vast majority of people, violent crime is something they read or hear about. But, the media does a great job of failing to put all of this in perspective -they use tragedy and fear to sell their services. And, we buy it.

A huge race war going on? I don't draw the same conclusion. Sure, there are still too many problems in race relations. But again, most folks get along. For all the Al Sharpton's that cynically use race to divide people and increase their political power, there are hundreds of thousands who just live peaceful lives.

And, now we have more power than ever to exchange ideas, transfer information and learn as much as our brains can hold. The 'net has provided great power to people like you and like me. TFL is nearly a miracle, in my book. Any resource like TFL was unknown, what, about 5 years ago?

So, I understand your concerns. And, I am very concerned as well, otherwise I wouldn't be posting here, writing seemingly endless letters to editors and politicians, and reading everything I can lay my hands on. But, there are many, many good people in this country, and we have a decent chance of turning folks around.

Consider it a challenge. Become as good as you can be to write, speak, and think clearly about liberty and the RKBA. Become a diplomat for this cause. We have a chance to change hearts and minds here in the U.S., and we're doing it, little by little.

Take care. Regards from AZ

I think he's right to a great extent. People have always wanted freedom. That's the real reason people went west originally. The were self-reliant and created their own communities. Got them all up and running and the put the trains through. That as the end of that, eventually.

We don't have the same choice, good or bad. So, we stay and fight for our country. We ARE a political force, but we need to do it with all the passion we have in order to be heard. Those who truly believe in freedom generally want to be left alone and allow others the same right. We aren't allowed that luxury right now. We HAVE to be heard, or risk losing what was fought so hard for in the past. It warms my heart to hear you all here, I only hope for each and every one of you, it extends beyond this board. I don't like political activism, it's not in my nature, I think. But it's an obligation at this point, for myself and my children..and you and yours..and even for those who don't believe it's important.

Sorry but, this country is as good as it gets. So, don't surrender it!
