On my way home from work,I found a new gun shop that I had'nt been to before so heck,I was in for a two hour trip anyway,I stopped by it.
In that gun store was a new Taurus Revolver.
It has a six inch heavy barrel with ,what I can only describe as either,a satin stainless or satin nickel finish.
It was a dead matte finish, almost like a silver parkerized finish.
But that was'nt the only thing that was different about this pistol.
Apparently Taurus has worked out a deal with Hammerli (of .22 Target pistol legendary fame)to rework some of their handguns.
I mean this .357 had THE BEST action of ANY new Taurus revolver I have ever handled.
The balance of the gun was perfect.
It also had the classic wood grip exactly the same as the old Smiths.
And I got chills because it has been twenty years since I have handled a non Smith gun that got this close to a Smith feel of balance, action and quality.
What's going on here?
Have any of you handled or bought this Hammerli line of Taurus revolvers?
It says stamped on left side under the cylinder on the frame-Hammerli in small print.
