New Standard Ruger 10/22 Update and Trigger Question

Well, I put a Simmons .22 Mag 3-9X32 scope on her and put her through her paces. I'm certain that I'll like this lil' gun a lot, and my best group at 50 yards was 10 shots @ .75" with one flier out half an inch. That was using CCI Green Tag ammo; the Federal and CCI Mini-Mag and even Eley/Remington stuff didn't seem all that impressive to me. Most of my groups were over MOA.
However, this could be due to what seems like a *very* rough trigger. This thing seems to need like 15 lbs. of pull to touch off, and it's not like it's smooth down the pull either. Creep seems really bad.

What can I do to make the trigger better? How much do I need to spend? (Cringing)

Jesus, I've spent almost $1,500 in guns and ammo in the last 30 days. Got to keep this expenditure hidden from the girlfriend, dontcha know:

Slammr's Loving and Extremely Visually Acute/Observant Girlfriend: "Hey, you got a new scope for that .223 didn't you?"

Slammr: "Hrmmm?"

Hawkeyes with an Elephant's Memory: "Yeah, that .223 you just bought had a Chinese-made scope on it before, right? You said it was a piece of crap. The one on it now has a gold ring around it and a big "L" on the adjustment caps. (sigh) What did that cost?

Slammr: "(mumble) hundred."

Girl with X-Ray Vision and Virgin Ears: "What?"

Slammr: "Two hundred. But honey, it was worth every penny! Look at these sub-MOA groups!"

[Aside] The Leupold 4.5-14X50 AO scope cost me $500 brand new but there ain't NO WAY she's ever gonna find that out.

Frustrated Girl: "You love your guns more than you love me, don't you? Hey. Hey, I'm talking to you!"

Slammr: "Hrmmm? Oh, no honey! Lemme just finish petting this 10/22 and I'll be right to bed!"

Girl: [Looks daggers at Slammr] "Leave the beer in the study, dipstick. You better be ready to serve."

Slammr: "Be right there, baby."
