New Spiller and Burr

I saw this on another forum at a price that was too good to pass up, so I got it. I always thought it was a neat looking revolver, kind of a cross between a Remington 1858, and a Colt navy. The top strap is grooved, like a single action army. It's .36 caliber and surprisingly hefty for such a small pistol.

It's by Pietta, as far as I know Uberti doesn't make one. Traditions sells them as well, but I think they are still made by Pietta. Not sure about that.

I'm going to start out with Remington no.10 caps and see how they fit. Maybe about 15-18 grains of BP. I hope to try it out soon.

Yes.....

.......It is one of the many examples I do not own.

I am on the lookout, but the prices have gone up as you implied.

The S & B is my favorite BP revolver. It fits my hand perfectly and is also a slim revolver too. Only thing is that it's got a kinda' odd way of removing the cylinder, but once you get used to it, it's cool too. Great little pistol.

I now have a pair of them and are a couple of my favorites.

They have a very distinctive report when shot...something that I will never forget. I wonder if the originals had this same "different" sound?

Congrats on your new "baby"! The S & B is on my want list as well . . but as Doc says . . . the prices keep going up. I think it's an attractive revolver and would fit in well with my other 36s. I hope you'll give us a report on your range time and how you like it! :)
