New Smith & Wesson 586

A Client ordered this the other day and I have to say I was impressed with this beast. I thought a few of you might appreciate it.

It is attractive. The wood stocks look fantastic, and anything looks better than the ridiculous Hogue monogrip.

It's a shame the left side of the revolver is what we've become accustomed to seeing, but so many of us can't bear to look at that side of them these days.

I bought one off a guy a few months ago.

It's a beauty of a gun (yes, it's a .357 mag). I'm almost afraid to shoot it much since it looks so good.

A "new" S&W with what appears from the photo to be a hammer-mounted firing pin and a threaded barrel? I'd love to see the other side of that revolver.

What do you see in the picture that suggests that?
All my older S&W revolver with hammer mounted firing pins have a pivot point you can see on the side of the hammer even at rest. Not like what is shown in the picture.

I'm guessing you meant frame-mounted FP? And the lack of a pin in the front sight tells me it's likely a 586-5, the last variant before they added The Lock.

Nice looking gun.

We've had quite a few of the Wiley Clapp GP100's come through as well. The pics (at least with my photography skills) don't really do them justice. That GP100 was a real beauty as well. Felt great in the hand.
