I have just been given a Chinese SKS by my father in law. I don't know much about them accept the basics. I would like to be able to use 20 or 30 rd magazines once in a while. Is this dificult to do? It has the magazine that drops opne from the bottom. Any and all information about this rifle would be great. Also I don't have all the terminology down yet so speak in layman's terms, help learn all this. I enjoy shooting and like to learn as much about it as I can.
I am a hunter from central Pennslvania.
 
I never had much luck with the large capacity magazines. You can actually load the gun very quickly with stripper clips, so I just bought 25 of them and kept them loaded with ammo.
 
all you need is a screwdriver or pen to be able to use detachable mags. first, take off the reciever cover and its internals,then take the pen or screwdriver and push the button behind the trigger gaurd so that the trigger assembly comes out. then just take out the 10rnd box mag.put everything bac together the same way just leaving out the stock magazine. when you put detatchable magazines in make sure the bolt is open.
