new sig report

Have had my SP2340 a little over 2 weeks now. I thought I would post my initial thoughts & results.
Caliber 40S&W with a second barrel in 357Sig.
A little over 400 rounds (FMJ, XTP, GoldDot, etc.) now through it.

1) Appearance: fair to good, the top slide had 2 "water marks" in the finish, barrels are blued & show the rub marks real quick. Other than that, the gun looks real fine.
2) Fit: excellent, fits together like a Sig!
3) Accuracy: Excellent, and best of all both barrels & most all loads hit at the POA out to 15yards plus. The 357Sig barrel may have a slight edge but both do real fine. It even throws the brass into a nice little pile.
4) Reliability: 357Sig barrel, prefect. With the 40S&W barrel very early on it twice failed to feed last round from clip, round tipped up & caught chamber mouth. Believe the problem has been corrected, but only time will tell for sure.
5) Sig service: guide rod had a slight damaged area on it, with in 1 week of being notified of this issue, Sig had a new guide rod in my hands. Of course free of charge.
6) Cleaning: couldn't be easier.

I like the sig pro a lot too. Have three of them (one for each hand and a spare :)) in 357 w extra 40 barrels.

I shot four of them (all 40s) back when they first came out, none of them worked reliably, even after extended break in. These are all perfect (so far, about 4000 rounds total).

Take down could be easier. They could have left the SIG take down lever in, or put the take down notch closer to the pin (like the USP).

Passed the DEA and Illinois SP tests (they bought Glock, but the sig pro passed too), so I consider it "proven" enough for me.

It is the best looking polymer pistol by far IMO, feels better in my hand than the Glock, and I shoot it better.

It works for me. YMMV?

"...barrels are blued & show the rub marks real quick."

Typical of all pistol that use the Browning lock up. The more you shoot it the more wear you'll have due to the slide making contact with the barrel. I make it a practice to apply a light coat of lube to the entire barrel to make barrel and slide contact smoother. ;)

Glad to hear you like your SIG Pro.

So many pistols, so little money.

BrokenArrow,
I really don't miss the take down lever, I can pop the take down pin out with my eyes closed, putting it back in I do have to align it carefully but that's no issue.

Speaking of Glock, I traded in a 23 to get this. I'll admit that the Glock never misfed once in the 7 years I owned it, but I was just never happy with the "feel". This Sig is wonderful to shoot.

For actual use I'll be using the 357Sig barrel. I don't think you could misfed or jam that even if you shot underwater <JJ>.... That is at least until I'm sure that my last round feed problem really is 100% cured on the 40 cal.

One point I missed, PRICE, I only had to add a very few dollars to my Glock trade in to walk out with the SigPro, couldn't even imagine a near even trade for any of the orginal Sig's.
