New Sig 228 question.

I was at the Atlanta Gunshow today and saw a few new Sig 228s. These were never fired and looked like they had just left the factory as they had alot of oil all over them.

Anyways, I noticed these Sig 228s had a different "disassembly latch" (that is what I call it). This part was more slanted than the one on my Sig 229. Has anyone else noticed this feature on new Sig 228s?

Greeting's All,

With all due respect, I totally disagree with
the comment's of Inspector Callahan. While the
Beretta is a fine weapon in it's own right; the
Sig "classic" P-series stands alone at the top,
as far as DA/SA trigger mechanisms go. The only
reason that the U.S. Military did not choose the
Sig P226 over the M9 was simply cost; as the Sig's
would have cost a few bucks more. As a matter of
fact, it is well documented that several unit's
did adopt the P226 (Navy Seal Teams), and the
P228 (U.S. Army C.I.D.).

Beretta's have a history of long, and creepy
double action trigger's; whereas Sig offers
a "short trigger" on some models such as the
P228 and P229. As most of you know, I carry
a Sig P220 .45ACP with the standard trigger;
and it has performed without a hitch.

"...the U.S. Military did not choose the Sig P226 over the M9 was simply cost;..."

That and the willingness of Beretta to start producing them here in the US.

Beretta is better than a Sig P-Series gun?

Thats news to me, dont know to many people that would take that choice if presented with the oportunity.

To each his own I guess.

All the new SIGs have the new takedown lever AND it doesn't leave the crescent shaped marks on the frame anymore !!!

Beretta better than Sig! What a joke.

Your'e probably the only person I've heard make that claim. I have a P-228 and I can't imagine an any better shooter to own.

How's Beretta so much better?
