Hello all,
I recently picked up a 12 gauge double barrel. Its a Navy arms import. For a gun thats probably consdidered a cheapo, it fast and feels real good. It has little to no info stamped on it. Under the forearm, there are stars stamped into the metal. I am betting this is choke size. 3 stars on one, and 4 on the other. So.... What do you think, 4 stars full and 3 modified? Also, is the whats the best method to determening if its 2 3/4 or 3 inch? Thanks in advance for any info!

When you separate the barrels from the action, all sorts of graphics should be exposed -- the proof marks will tell much. The barrels should be clearly marked as to the gauge and shell length.

Here's what the stars may mean. Of course, your gun could be the opposite. You'll know more when you determine who made the gun.

'*' designates full choke (F).

'**' designates improved modified choke (IM).

'***' designates modified choke (M).

'****' designates improved cylinder choke (IC).
