Found this on MSN. It's a clip from the Today show that shows teachers 'flocking' to gun training classes in Texas.

The trainers are providing free training to teachers and school administrators (normally $85) and they close out by saying it has been suggested by the Lt. Gov of Texas that the state pay for firearms training for educators.

They, of course, include the obligatory anti saying there should not be guns in school.

If those who are concerned about the safety of students really mean it, then they will support this program. Furthermore, I can't see how this won't affect discipline in general (improve it - there would have to be less toleration of misbehavior - more mature behavior by students - and a more professional staff). It could well be the necessary change to get schools back under control of the staff.
