I am going to buy a new all around semi auto 12 gauge this summer. I will be primarily using the gun for ducks, clay birds, and maybe at times small game. The only stipulations about the gun are as follows.

-Made in USA, Italy, Belgium
-Less then $1000
-Synthethic Stock
-26 inch barrel (i currently have a 28" 20ga and its a bit to long)

Please give me you suggestions

Thanks

+1 for Remington

I own 2 11-87s a premier and Super Mag. Only had one problem and it was from a cleanig error on the super mag.

winchester sx2 (or sx3, when they become available). i love mine, and i don't know anybody with an sx2 who's ever said anything bad about it.

Check out the new Remington CT105. Shotgun sports magazine gave it rave reviews. I would wait to check out one of those, I am. They rate it as the softest recoiling and smoothest shotgun trigger they have ever shot.

If you like the Benelli, you might consider the Franchi. Since Beretta owns Benelli and Franchi, the Franchi autos are just like the Benellis except they cost less. They use the same recoil systems and even look alike. Franchis are good guns.

M2

I have owned a Benelli M2 and traded up to a Super Black Eagle II since I wanted the option of 3 1/2" shells. The M2 was an awesome gun and can be had for about $1,000. I also have a Benelli Supersport I use for sporting clays, etc. I can't say enough good things about the Benellis. I have fired about 10,000 rounds through the Supersport and no problems. I clean the barrel of my guns with a Hoppes boare snake after each use. I cleaned this gun (breaking it down) after break-in and again after 5,000 rounds. After 5,000 rounds it was clean as when new with hardly any powder residue, etc. I have been through Berettas, Brownings, Remingtons and the only one of those still around is a Beretta 3901 20 gauge. As soon as I get me a Benelli Montelfro 20 gauge the Beretta will say goodbye as well. Get a Benelli, you'll love it!

Browning A-5

The first and best outo shotgun ever made.Buy one used for $325.00 and up.Get a belgem model. They will never die.Smooth bore fires super accurate slugs to all around good bird gun.I own two of them.Killed tons of game with them. Try one it out.

You can't go wrong with any of the guns listed above...but if it were my decision, I'd get a Benelli M2...in fact, I'll be buying my second Benelli pretty soon.

You've gotten great advice here so far. I've put lots of rounds through both Remingtons and Brownings and you'll be happy either way.
