THE NEW SCHOOL PRAYER

This was written by a teen in Bagdad, Arizona.

Now I sit me down in school
Where praying is against the rule

For this great nation under God
Finds mention of Him very odd

If Scripture now the class recites
It violates the Bill of Rights

And anytime my head I bow
Becomes a Federal matter now

Our hair can be purple, orange or green
That's no offense; it's a freedom scene

The law is specific, the law is precise
Prayers spoken aloud are a serious vice

For praying in a public hall
Might offend someone with no faith at all

In silence alone we must meditate
God's name is prohibited by the state

We're allowed to cuss and dress like freaks,
And pierce our noses, tongues and cheeks

They've outlawed guns, but FIRST the Bible
To quote the Good Book makes me liable

We can elect a pregnant Senior Queen,
And the 'unwed daddy,' our Senior King

It's "inappropriate" to teach right from wrong
We're taught that such "judgments" do not belong

We can get our condoms and birth controls
Study witchcraft, vampires and totem poles

But the Ten Commandments are not allowed

It's scary here I must confess
When chaos reigns the school's a mess

So, Lord, this silent plea I make:
Should I be shot; My soul please take!

Amen

Those are a few of the reasons that my fiance' and I have decided to home school our future kids when we are married. Fifteen years ago, my HS english teacher took us to a graveyard, then gave us a writing assignment. He told us to write our own epitaph. We then were given a hypothetical situation to solve.....15 People and only 10 can live. This is what you know about them and you choose who dies. BTW, the graveyard was next door to a house where 2 girls and a mother were murdered prior to our assignment. I could go on with many more examples, but do not want to draw too much attention the the cess pool when there are so many great teachers out there, even at home.

When this subject is raised there are always those that say, "What has this to do with RKBA?" "How will this or the posting of the Ten Commandments in schools make this country better?" Prayer and the posting of the Ten Commandments acknowledges that God is and is sovereign and that we are dependent upon Him. Only when God is acknowledged is there an acknowledgement that there are moral absolutes. Man has the freedom to make choices and even choices that are directly against God's commands and precepts. However, as we are seeing in this nation, there is a high price to pay. There is the ultimate price when the judgement occurs. Most want to pick and choose which commands they obey, and to rationalize that those they don't like don't pertain. The Columbines will not stop. They will continue to happen because man's heart is depraved and as the restraints are removed by society's tolerance and approval of sin things will get worse and not better.
