New Schoefield

At the beginning of the year big article in one of the gun mags ran about S&W remaking the Schoefield. Does anyone remember
when they said that it would hit the market?
I can't find the article and I don't believe they gave a date. Did anyone hear anything?

Happy Shooting :)

Glenn, Thanks for the info. I didn't know this was going on. They are auctioning the first 125, each one,one at a time. So far highest bid on No.#1 is $5000. I'm going to have to think about this, a little rich for my blood, but may be well worth it if you like Schoefields. The bidding stops sometime in May. You can go to their page and check out the current bids on each gun. Very interesting way to do business for the first ones. I had thought they were going to ask about $2000. for them.
Again thanks for the info, you may see me listed for a bid. :)

When I first learned of S&W's plan to auction the initial 125 guns "interesting" was not one of the words I used.
The first 125 will feature special presentation packaging with period type accesories and documents. For what ever that is worth.
They plan to manufacture 1000 to 1200 units the first year (2000) with a suggested retail price of approximately $1300.
An original Schoefield owned by Roy Jinks was used as a model to make (clone) the first one for the new production.

Thanks Gunslinger for more info. Now I'm deciding whether or not to bid on one or just get a regular production model for a lot less
