New SA 1911

So, I got the Green Light from the wifely unit to pick up a Marine Corps Operator. Slide to frame fit is simply stellar. Trigger is not as smooth as I would have expected, but I suspect will get better after a range day. It is a heavy beast and I do not see it as an EDC pistol. At home and out hunting in the weather that can happen in the Sierra Nevada's during deer hunting.

Has anyone used the 8rd. CMC Power Mags? Midway had them on sale for 22 bucks so I picked some up.

Anyone shooting this platform, I would love to hear your thoughts.

Thank you.

I do not have that particular gun but I do have the TRP. I had the same complaint about the trigger. Rather than send it back or wait for it to smooth up, I have a pretty reliable gunsmith and asked him to do a trigger job on it and get rid of the lock. The gun is the best shooting .45 i own. I have a couple of other Springers that I like a lot. I think you will be happy.

I have a single CMC 7 round mag. In my '78 Series 70 it works great. No experience with the 8 round ones.

1911 pattern pistol with a sub standard trigger is not something any 1911 owner needs to settle for. Probably an easy fix.

I had problems with the CMC Shooting Stars that came with my Dan Wesson Valor. No problems at all with the Wilson 47D mags, though.
