New Ruger Sixgun

I had a Sig 220 sitting around that I hadn't shot in a couple of years so I traded it for a 50th Anniversary Blackhawk .357.

Was hoping to trade it for a .44, but .357 is good enough for now.

Very nice! You are going to really enjoy that!

Maybe the two of them will mate and you'll have "young 'uns"! :D

Both are very nice - enjoy!

Great gun. The sharp edges of that Micro rear sight bear watching, though.
If you load your own, Skeeter's old load of 13.5 gr of 2400 with any good 158 gr SWC especially Lymans 358156 GC is a tack driver at 1150 fps. Work up to it but in my guns it's moderate pressure-wise. Rod

I call my 50th .357 the Finger of God gun. I'm not sure what makes it work this way, but that gun hits where I look. Whatever size, whatever range, it has surprised the heck out of me when I got center hits with what amounts to a snap sight picture. I don't know if it is size or balance or what but mine sure does fit me well. I'm not a huge .357 fan, I really prefer .41 or .44 or .480... but this one is very nice.

I wiped the gold lettering off mine. And I've tried a few different grips. People complain about the factory grips but those actually work for me. It isn't like it recoils hard.

The only thing wrong with the 50th Anniversary Flattop is that Ruger did not make it a regular catalog item. The medium sized frame is perfect for .357.

Tulsamal, I like .44 too, but a 4" 29-2 isn't exactly a cheap gun. And I definitely need some new grips, these are way too small. I'm thinking either ivory or stag.

The medium sized frame is perfect for .357.
Yep!!!! And Lispey's came out with a run of .357 flattop convertibles on the medium frame (both blued and Stainless) . Got my 5 1/2" (favorite length) revolver! My 50th .357 flattop now spends most time in safe.... So now I have the 'perfect set of 5 1/2" revolvers' all on the medium frame (.357, .44Spec, and .45 Colt). Doesn't get much better in my world.

Enjoy the 50th. It is a nice gun.

One of the best guns they've put out. I have the Anniversay as well as just bought two of the Lipsey convertibles. Bought a 5.5" blued and a 4-5/8" stainless. Agreed, perfect size for the .357

Basically a New Vaquero in 357 with adjustable sights...but made during one of Ruger's peak quality control periods. My NewVaq originally in 357 was made in 2005 around the same time and Ruger was really doing it right. QC dropped during the initial "Obama gun rush" of 2008-2010 or so but seems to have rebounded since.

There were about 16,000 of your guns made, if I recall right, not counting the later Lipsey's variants.
