New Ruger Single-Six

The Great Mahoo

I decided it was time to offload a shotgun that had been in my closet for years in exchange for something useful. Used the money today to pick up a new-in-box 5.5" Stainless Single Six convertible.

I've been trying to decide on a .22 handgun for some time now, and just couldn't wait anymore. Can't wait to get out and do some shooting!

Just had to share my excitement.

Wahoo.... You are on your way.... My single-six is always in my range bag and wouldn't be without it. Enjoy!!!!! Hopefully it will be a dandy shooter for you!

For most of my shooting career I avoided the .22 R.F., preferring the centerfires except when I had to have a rimfire for a match.

Then, BOOM, I rediscovered the little rimfires. Now I've got two single actions and one autoloader (gasp!). My little Uberti Stallion is just one plain fun gun to shoot!

I picked up a three-screw Single Six at a gun show, intended for it to be my squirrel gun.

And there's nothing like a dimunitive litle single action with BB caps!

Great Choice

I got a Convertible Bisley in 6.5". Had my Smith bring the trigger to 2#. Yeeouwsah! The WMR is also awesome.

Very nice!

I have had a Super Single Six convertable (blued, adj sight) for twenty some odd years now, and still enjoy it a lot. Hardly ever use the magnum cylinder.

For some odd reason, that gun and I work well, but not the way I do with my other guns. With that single six, when I take careful aim, I'm close, but seldom perfectly "on". When I just kind of point it and look over the front sight, I rarely miss. Not what usually happens when I shoot, but I'll be happy to continue to live with it!:D

Seriously, you have a fine gun there. One seldom hears bad things about Ruger SAs. Congrats!

Decided to take the new gun out back and do some shooting today. Put about 100 rounds down-range at some small spinner targets. Took a little while to get a hang up, but turned out to be a real beaut.

Now you've done it! What a fine lookin' little revolver.

Gotta go get me one of those stainless 6 shooters, maybe even a Single Ten, even though the SS I bought new in 1959 still shoots good as it did 54 years ago.

A single six was my only protection from prairie rattlers and even Cougars in the scrubland for years. It would be the last gun I sold, and the first I bought again if things got bad. They get under your skin. I still won't carry anything else for a camp gun.

My SS is the oldest gun in my safe. Many have come and gone, but the SS is still here. Bought mine from a local pawn shop just off base. It was in like new condition for only $125, which was a steal even back in '93.

I shoot the .22wmr cylinder every now and then, but I mostly feed it .22lr.

Great choice Mahoo! I've been trying to find a used one just like it. If something doesn't come up soon I may just have to bite the bullet and buy a new one. Enjoy.

I have been looking at the Ruger single action line up lately and been thinking about going .32 H&R but I don't know a lot about the caliber.

My understanding is that I would be able to chamber .32, .32 long, and the H&R Magnum loads. I just don't know about availability and costs for each.

This was my Xmas present to myself. I figured that if I live in Centennial Colorado I might as well have a Colorado Centennial comemerative Single-Six.

Great shooter and stays pretty well centered when switching from LR to WMR

Oh, I get it. Sand??? Around here it just up and disappears sometimes. You can make balls out of it and throw them at people...
Beautiful revolvers gentelmen.
