New Ruger LCPII .380/Broke

Bought this new little gun to throw in my coat pocket this winter to replace the LCP I used to have. Went to range and shot 3 mags threw it and then starting with 4th mag gun would shot, eject case, chamber new round and trigger now felt like there was no tension to it when pulled(mussy) and gun would not fire. Dropped mag and ejected unspent round, insert mag and rack slide and gun fired but went threw same situation as stated. Tried several different brands and types of bullets and same thing. Talked to one of the range people and let them fire it. They said nothing about the trigger but said it simply would not eject spent case after firing gun. I did not go in shooting area when they fired it to see for myself what happened to them. They thought broken sear. I'm no gunsmith so I took it back to gun store and they were very willing to exchange it for another new one or send it back to Ruger for me. We bought felt this should go back to Ruger since Ruger said this is a new design LCP and should see what went wrong. There is a little bit of pinched finger if I squeeze trigger too high up on trigger which I did not have this situation on my old LCP. Other wise it is a comfotable and managble gun. Was easy on the web of my hand, wish my LCR 38spl. was. But then I'm 68 and just whining, LOL.:D:)
I will keep you posted when it comes back. Buy the way I paid $269 plus tax. Not trying to bash Ruger, I,ve owned enough of them through the years, just letting you know my situation with this gun. Have a Great weekend.

A shame. My two LCPs have been good. But apparently all the new Ruger lines are being infected by their declining quality control. Both my SRs, one of my two LCRs, my LC9s,would not function acceptably out of the box. Ruger is now like Taurus, just with a quicker turnaround if you send one back.

Got my LCPII back today. Gun store told Ruger this is a rush job n I just got it back this afternoon, fast service from Ruger.
Ruger said they replaced the broken trigger pin and fired 18 rounds of 100gr Black Hills rounds through it and worked great. I won't be able to shoot it myself till this weekend. I'll give a range report on it. Have a great weekend.

I bought a used Ruger P90.

Love the gun, but, trigger mechanism broke.

I sent it back to Ruger, and they fixed it pronto without charge, so I can say they stand behind their product.

Be sure to let us know the outcome of your range session. Strange the broken firing pin would cause failure to extract? Mmmm..........

I agree with you. I've read and heard about too many issues with Ruger guns that should not be happening with such a large manufacturer. Ruger has dropped quality control and inspections to cut costs and don't have the most skilled employees working in the factories anymore.
