New Rossi small frame 6 shot - 2" .357

Anyone notice that there just may finally be a "replacement" for the vaunted and missed Detective Special in the form of Rossi's new 2" 461 (blue) and 462 (SS) model, 6 shot .357? Rossi site says "built extra tough" - to withstand the .357 use...which means--especially if you're slightly skeptical of that claim in a small frame snubbie--that it probably at least heralds the introduction of the perfect .38/.38+P "new Detective Special" with at least acceptible/occasional .357 application. A lot of us have long felt that the Detective Special was the perfect snubbie but virtually non-duplicated in the past 20 years...smaller in frame than the J while still holding 6 rounds versus today's 5 shooters.

Transfer bar?

They look pretty good, and the pricing is right. What type of safety device do they use? Is it the transfer bar system, or something else? I ask because the hammers look much heavier than the taurus'.

I have one of those small frame 6 shot 357 Rossi's. It has ports the whole way down the barrel. I like the way it feels in my hand. I have no compaints about it.

Love mine

I'd not be so bold as to utter an expert opinion, but I love my 462 2" Rossi 6-shot .357 snubby. I know of a few persons I'd consider experts, persons who give positive feedbacks about this gun.
