New RKBA group in Central Indiana

Hi all! We are forming a new RKBA group in central Indiana. Our first meeting will be on June 14th. We need lots of motivated, 2A defenders to come and be a part of this new group. We hope to have a pro-rights rally in Indianapolis in October, and begin an organized effort to put pressure on the General Assembly to pass bills such as S45, that would have added Indiana to the growing list of states who prohibited frivilous lawsuits against the firearm industry. We need to get a pro-gun political force moving in Indiana. So, come to the first meeting and help us form. Details are:
When? Wednesday, June 14th (Flag Day), at 7:00 p.m.
Where? Marion County Fish & Game Association, Indianapolis
Directions?
Marion County Fish & Game
7052 Crawfordsville Road (US Highway 136)
Indianapolis, IN 46224

Take I-465 to Crawfordsville Road, U.S. Highway 136 (Clermont) exit. Take U.S. 136 (Crawfordsville Road) west towards Clermont. Follow the highway under the I-465 underpass and through the stoplight. Take the first
available left turn (it looks like a private driveway on the east side of the Eagle Creek bridge). If you pass Girls School Road, you've gone too far! Follow the gravel road to the right, down along Eagle Creek, and under the abandoned railroad bridge. The drive will curve back East. The clubhouse and
range are at the end of the drive.

If you have further questions, e-mail me - gdoan@iquest.net .

One of the first orders of business will be to elect officers, set group goals and determine ways to make money so we can achieve our goals.

I'm bringing snacks. :D (Food usually always brings people in ;) )

Blueyedog: I can't come down from Milwaukee for a meeting, but please keep me posted as to any demonstrations. They could make for a good excuse for a cycle trip ;) .

let me know I belong to a group in northern Indiana which I am sure your aware of. I am most liekly not going to the meeting, but I am interested in the rally. I have some experience here from our own rally a few weeks ago.

Don't forget to call simonov jr.

Blueyedog,
I got your e-mail and looked over the thread. I am very interested. But, (yes as usual there is a but) my work schedule that day and mostly the four hour round trip are going to keep me away.

Keep us all posted on what happens.

Well guys, we had our first meeting and it was great. We got a name - Second Amendment For Everyone or S.A.F.E. -; we got officers; we're working on a plan of action; and we had a great time. I got to meet another fellow TFLer, simonov jr, who BTW is our Secretary (or, as he prefers, The Admiral ;) )

For those of you who live close enough, our next meeting will be on Wednesday, July 12th at 7:00 p.m., same place as in my first post.

Oh yes, I should mention, I will be bringing cookies! :D

Same with me Blueyedog. I live in the Ft Wayne area. Too far for a meeting, but as for any rallys or support stuff, let me know!

And if you hear from my Louise, won't you tell her I love her so?

This group already has some traction. We had a core of about 12 people, and all are pretty fired up. Blueyedog has alot of energy and is our revered leader. As of now we are focusing on recruiting. The Michiana group put 75 bodies on target at the MMM march in south bend with 2 days notice. We should be able to get that many or more members, and the groups ultimately should make for an effective alliance of political shock troops. We as gunowners can fill a gun show for three days, but can't seem to get enough people to fill a fotomat booth when those same shows are threatened. That has to change. I would like to ask any and all hoosiers, esp. in Indy area, to come out and meet us next time. This will be fun, and i assure you you will meet some real fire-eaters. I for one am sick and tired of taking a beating from the anti's on the ropes. We need everyone we can get. BTW, I'm visiting Maryland right now, cool I can log in here from anywhere. And yes, I DID eat a hell of alot of crabs today! Sim Jr
