New pistol purchase question

Have a shooting buddy that is selling his CZ Tactical Sport Pistol 40S&W, I have not fired it, only seen him shoot it a few times. I'm more of a rifle guy, however the pistol looks pretty slick, did get to dry fire it and it's trigger pull is similar to some of my target rifles.
I have big hands and it seem to fit ok, has about 500 rounds through it, looks new.
Have had several Glocks over the years in 40S&W and have lots of reloading stuff for that caliber.
Would this be a good purchase?
General paper punching and possible USPSA match use.

If it fits, you shoot it well, is in a caliber you like and is a price you find reasonable, then sure.

I was just chatting with him and since he's building a new pistol is also going to sell his CZ 75 Accu Shadow Lite, unfortunately it's in 9mm though, said he'd sell it to me course a little more $.
What would you do?
Remember I'm a rifle guy but both of these sound good, can't afford both.

I prefer 9mm to .40cal, however I would absolutely choose the Tactical Sport over the other one. What kind of money is he asking for it?

1000 for Tac Sport 40SW
1200 for Custom Shop 75 Accu Shadow Lite 9mm (don't know much about this one)
I also have complete RockRiver lower figured into the equation

Hammer cam...no they don't. It's a custom shop model, they definitely worked that out from them.

Tough call. Both are incredible. The Tactical Sport will be a 'major' power factor caliber if that is what you want in competition.

If it were me, I'd go with the TS, just because it's been one of my favorites for years. The AccuShadow is nice with that 1911 style bushing though. I'm getting the same thing done to my 97b soon, supposed to make it scary accurate.

The "smart-people" say, 9mm is (almost) as good as .40. In that case I'm stupid, because I do NOT agree with them.
But then again, they can shoot double action "almost-as-good" as single action too, so what do I know. (?)
Get it. Don't worry about the money. Its only paper messed up with paint.

I'm more of a rifle guy

I'll be the contrarian here. A rifle guy buying a CZ Competition pistol is like a pistol guy buying a $1,500.00 RRA LAR 15 X-1 rifle as a first AR-15 base gun. Personally I'd look at getting a $500.00 CZ 75B where if you try it & like it you can consider moving up to a CZ comp gun, and these are excellent! But if you don't like it and you want to get your $ back out of it, you have a chance to get practically all of your money back.

Now I am primarily an auto-pistol guy but I like to shoot my S&W revolvers on occasion. I spent good money for these guns, these are all in LN condition, and if I decide to sell or trade one off I'll get my money back or good value out of the one I sell or trade.

I purchased an m10 very long time ago

I have a m10 chambered in 45 acp sap but I don't know if the serial number is right... It says sap 1 of 23... Is this gun legal???

I don't think the price for CZ75TS is all that good. However, I have nothing but praise for the pistol itself. Mine is a 9mm. It is one of my more accurate range guns; I shoot SIG p210, SIG X-Series and several other accurate handguns. The TS is as accurate as any of them, at least with me shooting them.

Undecided - both looked like new.
Shadow has 2000 rounds and Tac Sport less than 1000
We're making a range trip next Saturday to let me get some trigger time to see which I favor & will get a better price :D
He showed me his STIs - NOW those are really nice & expensive
See why he need to raise some $

I love my CZ tactical sport. It is very accurate and fits my hand well. I shooting one handed since I am an amputee. I like the trigger because it is short and very smooth. I think it's a good buy. If you are looking for a firearm or accessory in the future check out www.tftpa.com. We negotiate on price so it's a fair transaction for all parties involved.
