The large central Florida newspaper; www.OrlandoSentinel.com put out a article about George Zimmerman's firearm; a Kel-Tec PF9 model 9x19(9mm).
The news story did not say what type or brand of ammunition was used in the Martin incident. It also reported George Zimmerman used a IWB concealment holster for the small Kel-Tec pistol(made in central Florida).
I always thought Zimmerman had a Glock 19 or 17 pistol or maybe a compact Springfield Armory XD.
The firearm(unlike some wildly misquoted news reports & rumors) is in police custody.

I wonder how much Kel-Tec paid for that article....seems like nothing more than an advertisement for the PF-9 to me.

Kel-Tec...

I don't really view it that way. It's really a surprise to me that if so many media wags & culture "experts" slam George Zimmerman as a "wanna-be" cop or security honcho that he'd buy & carry a LE type sidearm like a SIG Sauer or a Glock.
Glocks(21 .45acp, 22/23 .40, .45GAP) & the P226R/P229 are the most common law enforcement sidearms in the Orlando area.
SIG Sauer also has a training center in Orlando Florida.
As I posted, Kel Tec has a factory & office near Daytona Beach FL. To me, PF9s are ok for defense but the sign of someone who's not aware or isn't concerned with better models for self protection/CC; Beretta, S&W, HK, Glock, SIG Sauer, etc.

About 5-6mo ago, I went by an Orlando area gun shop(a large, popular chain) and checked out a slick SIG P226R DAK in .40S&W. The young sales clerk told me that only local LE officers or federal agents show any interest in the DAK format pistols.
I let out a small laugh & said; "yeah, I'm sure they know why, too". ;)
