New Old Sixgun.

So, I noticed my roommate's eyes had that glazed and hungry "lordy, but I want a new gun" look. I notice that his avaricious glance fell across my Rossi 720 once or twice, as he made oh-so-carefully-oblique references to it in conversation. Smelling blood in the water, I waited for The Question. Finally, it came.

He: "So, uh, what would you be willing to trade for that .44 Special you don't tote anymore?"

Hmmm. Good point. With the acquisition of the 296Ti, I really don't tote the Rossi anymore. Besides, how many 5-shot DAO .44 Specials does a girl really need?

Me (nonchalantly): "Well, I've kinda had my eye on that square-butt 3" heavy barrel 36 of yours..."

He: "No way, that's my only J-frame, and I mean to start toting it occasionally."

Me: "...or that Model 12 you have; you never tote it, man. You should trade me, it's a safe queen. Besides, you have that 2.5" 686 for a snubby, and that 4" RB 19 is a cooler K-frame; you really, really should trade me that 2" Model 12. Really."

He: "Welll..."

Me: "I'll throw in a knife."

He: *blink, blink*

I know I've got him now!

He: "Which knife?"

Me: "How about that sharper-than-dammit Cold Steel Recon 1 you like so much?"

[Insert slight delay at this point, while he ascertains that the 720 still times well and hasn't lost its smooth trigger pull, and that the original rubber grips are still lying around someplace.]

He: "Done. Got any .44 Special ammo?"

Me [feeling suddenly munificent]: "Sure. Here, have a few cylinders worth; on me. Gold Dots okay?"

The end result:

Everything I've tried to teach you about Smith & Wesson revolvers and you STILL get taken for a ride...

Sigh... :D

Mutually beneficial multiparty exchange.

I must be a REAL easy mark...

because when I take Peggi out to shoot, and she shoots something REAL well, the following events transpire-

1. Big, blue eyes flutter under auburn hair...

2. Sultry voice says, "Wow, I really like this!", and

3. so I give away another perfectly good firearm.

So, long SP-101 .357 3". See ya around, short-stocked, Pachmayer Decelerator-fitted Reminton '06. I'm just lucky my ol' Redhawk kicks too hard for her to like it, & that I need the Sig 220 for work...

C'mon, Tamara. We are such suckers, and you are such connivers.

:)

The bad thing is she didn't do anything at all. We (males in general) do it all to ourselves. With a little more 'hesitation', the ever popular, "well......I don't know.......", she would have gotten even more bounty.:)
