New old gun

Just swapped for a model 11 savage 7mm-08. This gun has a long action which i thought was odd being a model 11 but the magazine box is a little shorter than a long action. I am not a 7mm-08 fan so i got with my gunsmith buddy and were going to cut the action for a full length action, ream the chamber to a 284 win, and recrown the barrel. Its rare, its cool, and is an awesome waste of money for a gun that is perfectly fine the way it is. i think it will be awesome to finally have a 284 with the limitations they had in a short action gone. As the project is finished i will post pics and hopefully some real nice groups.
Please tell me what ya think and yes, you can hold back on the sarcasim

It sounds like a cool ass plan to me. I barely know enough to break down my weapons for a good cleaning, but I gotta respect those who can do more.
