Guys, I just rec'd this email today and it's legit. I don't know if you've discussed it but here it is. SB-2099:

Senate Bill SB-2099 will require all of us who own or have a gun in their
possession to put them on our 2000 1040 federal tax form. It may also require fingerprints and a tax of $50 per gun. This bill was introduced on Feb. 24 and will become public knowledge 30 days after it is voted into law. As this is an amendment to the Internal Revenue Act of 1986 which means that the Finance Committee can pass this without the Senate voting on it at all. The full text of the proposed amendment is on the
U.S. Senate homepage at <http://www.senate.gov> You can find the bill by doing a search by the bill number. (SB-2099) Call your Senator and
Congressman and express your feelings concerning the content of this bill.

Thanks Kam. I haven't been around in a while. :>

A search of the Legal and Political Forum just in the past 30 days on "2099" will yield the threads listed above in Keith's posting and more. One or two are still open if anyone insists on flogging the dead horse a little more.

Closed.
