Received my new MP mould from Miha last week, so had to try it out. The mould was from a group buy on the cast boolits website, and casts a bullet that is a clone of the H&G #68 bullet - with one exception. I recently bought a beautiful cased Smith and Wesson Model 25-2 made in 1975 that appears to be unfired, and as is typical of both the .45 ACP and .45 Colts made by Smith and Wesson in that era, has the large throats. So, I ordered the mould to size the bullets to .455" instead of the typical .453" size. The mould is marked as .455 and with my alloy the bullets are dropping at .456". Ah, life is good.

I have that same mould in 457 for a S&W 455 hand ejector (and I still have to beagle or PC them to get them to do well in my cylinders/bore which mic at 4585).

Anxiously awaiting the 220gr HB manstopper. Any day now....
 
Mine showed up this afternoon. I cast about 75 before the light ran out. Cool bullet. About as big as a thimble.

Mine sits waiting for me at the post office. Got there too late yesterday to pick it up. I am a little worried about how well the slightly rounded edge at the top of the mould will turn out when casting. Any problem with that?

Nice molds and boolits. Out of curiosity, do you guys think there were be much upset at the hollow base using air-cooled wheel weights? Enough for oversized ~.456" cylinder throats?

I never use straight wheel weights, too hard for my intended velocity (750 - 800fps). Cut it 50/50 with pure and now we're talking. Chances are the bullets will come out of the mould at .456", so run them thru a .457" lube/sizer die and you will start out with .456" bullets.

I didn't really have enough time to really get everything working well. I had a buncha 3:1 WW:soft in the pot, pot drains fast with this mold, plus new mold, etc. The area between the two grooves is the only troublesome part. The tops of the bullets came out easy right out of the gate.

I need to figure out how to work this with my Lee bottom pour. The pins get in the way of the rest except with just the right geometry. I've never cast HP/HB bullets before; it's kinda nice. I give the handle nut two raps, and then nudge the pins on any that haven't dropped and that pretty much does it.
 
Was able to get to the post office today and pick mine up. Typical Miha quality, as in Excellent.
